Easier, quicker, use an oil temp sender dipstick! Sold for VWBeetles and Kampers. It's made by VDO, the gauges people. May need 'tuning' to your gugae, if thta's not VDO, by putting small resistances in the circuit. Test with the sensor in a heated water bath. - JOHN DAVIES

The sump plug thread is 3/8" NPT (took a surprisingly long time to find that out!). The sender units are available in metric and imperial threads. Demon Tweeks stock a wide range of adapters and senders and I ordered my sender and sump plug adapter from them - NIGEL CLARK
