Timing Chest Oil Leaks
Guess this applies to a lot of our engines. When I got this old lump to rebuild it had thick gunge in all the usual places, obviously been p*g oil out the front for ages. Anyway when I stripped it down I found the seal was split, but more sinister was the damage to the pulley. The damaged seal had cut a groove in it and effectively rendered it scrap, I have had to lash out on a good used one. It's probably too late for most people, but if yours starts leaking DON'T put off repairing it, might just save yourself some cash!
